Network Terminology
The active telecom equipment and related systems used to deliver services, such as OLTs, ONTs/NTUs, switches, routers, EMS/NMS, controllers and relevant active service configurations.

Operational Terminology
Technical-operational review before commitment. In this SoW, VX Fiber reviews the target network, systems, data, active equipment, operational processes and risks to identify red flags, gaps and what is needed to reach the target operating model.
The transition and migration phase between DD and steady-state Operations. The TSA phase is where access is secured, BAU is protected
The practical model for how the network is governed, operated, supported, reported and improved. It defines who does what.
The actor who owns, builds, and operates the passive layer of the open access network. In many situations, multiple fiber owners cover the passive layer. For example, the municipality and other telcos provide the backbone fiber, the property owners provide the in-house fiber network.
The actor who builds and operates the active layer of the open access network. The fiber operator leases passive infrastructure such as backbone fiber, access fiber, and co-location space from the fiber owner for its operation. The fibre operator offers wholesale network services to ISPs, If the fiber operator is not the owner they pay a fibre fee to the fiber owner.
Provides Internet services by building and operating their own ISP infrastructure on top of the fiber network, is typically the main retail/commercial interface for consumers of the service.
The ability to make the footprint visible, sellable, orderable and activatable for the anchor ISP and later for other ISPs.
VX Fiber’s assessment of how simple or difficult a network will be to transition and operate, based on data quality, systems, hardware, field process, access, vendor support and readiness.

Supports field installation workflows, including:
- Work-order execution
- Installation steps, completion and follow-up

Systems used to support network operations, such as inventory, provisioning, monitoring, ticketing, assurance, diagnostics and planned works.
Systems used to support commercial and business processes, such as product catalogue, order handling, subscription management, rating, billing-ready data and customer records.
System used to manage specific network elements or equipment families.
System used to monitor or manage network equipment and network status.
A technical interface that allows systems to exchange data or trigger workflows automatically. APIs may support order handling, provisioning, inventory, status, reporting or assurance
Automated provisioning where services or equipment can be configured with little or no manual intervention, subject to supported vendors, models, systems, access and data quality.
